Nothing can stop us now
There will be moments
where we feel we are invincible
that nothing can stop us
and these are the moments I fear in life
the brief glimpses of optimism
when you forget yourself and say maybe
this could all turn out okay.
It's like when you're in a shop and say
This is the most beautiful crystal swan
I have ever seen,
it will look so perfect on our mantelpiece
and moments later the assistant is on her hands and knees
with a dustpan and brush
and the manager is taking your credit card details
and you don't understand how it slipped from your hands.
